Club of the Year 2011

2011 a MASSIVE Success for Ballymoney Cycling Club

Voted the BEST Cycling Club in Ulster, also runner up out of over 200 other clubs in the all Ireland category,
Launched the "Community Cycling" initiative with Dalriada school, the only one of its kind in Ireland.
Introduced the fitness testing and development centre here in Ballymoney only one of this sort outside University College Dublin.
About to launch in 2012 the "Sprocket Rocket" Programme for kids under 11 years of age, teaching skills and
bike handling to our young riders.
 
Supporting local and national Charities, with cycle events and runs of up to 100miles, In 2012 a new joint venture in support of the North West 200 charity on the Sunday of the opening festival a Cycle sportive event will be held on the NW200 circuit, (see later press for details) The list goes on and on.
 
The Ballymoney CC boys and girls won over 40 local, national club, interclub and open events. From Road races to off road racing on mountain bikes. Also dozens of top 10 places were also secured by the ultra successful Ballymoney Club throughout the whole of Ireland.
Names cropping up week in week out like Ellen McAree, Caitie O'Hagan, Jack Owens, Aoife Cameron Mitchell, Wayne Stevens, Aaron Swan, Ryan Fenton, Jason Taggart, Garreth McBride, Stuarty Laverty, Mathieu Patten, Martin Carroll, Adrian Madden, Devon McIlwaine and top finisher in the Irish National Road race championships Stevie McAllister. These riders have done the club proud and will continue to do so with the extensive support provided by Ballymoney Cycling Club in 2012.
Prize and Award Celebration this Friday Evening.
To offer congratulations and recognition for their achievements Ballymoney CC are holding a family orientated "Awards Celebration" at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre from 7pm (Finger buffet served at 7.30pm).
With emphasises on youth and family involvement in Ballymoney Cycling Club the JDLC has been chosen to present the 10 Prestigious awards to the competitors.

Ballymoney CC, chairman Charlie Dickson has extended an open invitation to all members, past and present, our loyal friends and supporters to come along on Friday evening and enjoy the atmosphere and hear the plans that Ballymoney CC have for the years ahead.
Ballymoney CC would like to offer our congratulations and help in any way possible to the newly formed Dunloy Cycling Club, recently submitted to Cycling Ulster. It is great to see the depth of cycling in the area and the good that can come from this is enormous. Sport has no borders and reaches out to all areas of our communities. Best wishes and good luck to the riders and members at Dunloy.

Bike Pure, Anti Drugs awareness in Cycling!
Ballymoney Cycling Club have been accepted by the Bike Pure organisation in their campaign to make cycling a cleaner sport,
BCC will feature on their website www.bikepure.org. A presentation of the famous "Blue" wristband will be made to local school children in the coming weeks.
With the Olympic games coming to London in 2012 the focus will be on clean sport and all Ballymoney CC riders competing in open and international races in 2012 will be available for any form of testing pre, during or post competition.
A new year 2012, has come and it is about showing an example to the young people about how to conduct yourself when competing in sport said Ballymoney CC vice chairman Wayne Stevens. Wayne will be leading the campaign and giving talks about how to enjoy cycling and the benefits to your health at schools and club promoted events. (Venues and dates to follow shortly)
